How I Work

Looking at the View

Helping you to reach new heights

I am a warm, open, and empathetic practitioner with the ability to build a rapport, gain trust and help my clients feel relaxed. I work from a Humanistic perspective meaning that I believe everyone deserves respect, everyone is an individual and that their experience is the most important criteria for change.

My commitment to you will always be the type of therapist who offers her client a safe relationship to sensitively explore those things which have caused confusion, pain, or damage within your life experiences. We would work together in a collaborative method permitting you to discover and trust in your own ability, strengthen a renewed belief in yourself and so use your newly found autonomy to inform life decisions going forward.

My experience and ability to work and communicate with people from all backgrounds includes diversity ranging from different ethnic, faith, gender, sexual preference and age group to mine.  My clients have presented, and I have experience of working with a broad range of issues ranging from anxiety to trauma. A more comprehensive overview includes bereavement (including death of a child, parent, sibling), coming to terms with end of life, depression, divorce, historical sexual abuse, non-consensual sexual abuse, loss (including, home, job, self-worth), marriage breakdown/discourse, receipt of life-threatening diagnosis, rejection, social anxiety, and trauma.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapy (BACP), a prestigious professional body who represent counselling and psychotherapy within the United Kingdom. Combined with my degree level study, training, and experience, I adhere to the BACP code of ethics as well as maintain personal integrity, trustworthiness and discretion towards my clients and commit to undertake 30 hours of continued professional development annually to keep myself current and able to offer my clients the best possible service.
